I’ve spent most of my life building, creating, and finding opportunity where others might not see it yet. From business ownership to construction and real estate development, every season of my life has taught me something valuable. Looking back, each experience quietly prepared me for what I’m doing today.
Before construction became my primary focus, I owned and operated several businesses. Starting with a salon, then an assisted living home for the elderly, and later a pizzeria. Alongside those ventures, I found myself naturally drawn to remodeling, land development, and the transformation of spaces.
In 1988, I completed my first remodel projects entirely on my own. In 1990, I met Rick, and together we worked in remodeling for several years. After I introduced him to a contractor who needed help, we continued taking on projects until 1991, when the idea of building something bigger became impossible to ignore.
Starting a construction company came with its fair share of challenges, but it also came with purpose. Our very first project was building a home for Rick’s parents, a meaningful beginning that set the foundation for years to come.
As we worked with more homeowners, our skills, confidence, and reputation grew. We quickly realized that we wanted to expand beyond individual projects and begin scaling the business. This period laid the groundwork for our eventual move into commercial real estate development.
Based in Lewiston, Idaho, we secured a commercial contract valued at approximately $1.5 million, an important milestone that confirmed our growth and direction.
From there, we expanded well beyond our hometown, developing commercial properties throughout the Pacific Northwest, including Washington, Oregon, Nevada, and Montana. These years were filled with growth, hard work, and the satisfaction of building projects that would serve communities for years to come.
As a new decade began, we returned to residential development with a more intentional focus. During this time, we built a strong catalog of properties, some sold, others retained which allowed us to create sustainable, residual-based income through long term rentals.
Becoming landlords of our own developments gave us the opportunity to step into real estate investing in a new way. Eventually, we chose to step away from active construction due to the physical demands of the work, while continuing to manage and grow our real estate portfolio.
Today, after decades of experience, my love for seeing the potential in a home remains as strong as ever. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about taking a house and transforming it into what someone once only dreamed it could be.
I’ve returned to my roots, remodeling and flipping homes and it truly feels like a full circle moment. With mentorship, continued learning, and a deep passion for transformation, this chapter has blessed me in ways I never imagined.
Follow my journey as I continue growing into what feels like my true, divinely guided passion.
